Aspire marks 16th anniversary with two top award nominations and one win
Aspire Recruitment has been nominated for This is Manchester Awards 2019: A Company Making a Difference in the Community.
As part of The Growth Company, Aspire Recruitment works in partnership with The Skills Company, as well as the Skills For Employment and National Careers Service teams to provide a range of services for clients, including pre-employment training, impartial careers advice and help for long-term unemployed people and particularly hard-to-place candidates.
Aspire Recruitment has also worked with the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University, helping them with temporary vacancies and so far placing over 4,000 candidates there, most of whom were previously unemployed, coming from some of Manchester’s most deprived areas.
As a social and ethical not-for-profit agency, Aspire Recruitment regularly gives back to the local community and in 2011 worked in partnership with the University to launch The Works, an employment and training centre, which aims to improve the work opportunities available to local unemployed people.
As well as their social and ethical work, Aspire Recruitment also works with employers of all sizes to fill high level vacancies through their professional services team, providing a 360-degree consultative process to help recruit the best people possible.
Aspire Recruitment has been nominated for another top award - The Talk of Manchester Business Awards 2019 in the Best Recruitment Company category. The TOMS have fast become one of the region’s most recognised business awards. Voted for by customers, they recognise leading companies from a variety of industries in the region.
Head of Aspire Recruitment Julie McMenamin said: “To be nominated for The Talk of Manchester Business Awards is testament to the great work the team do to not only meet the needs of businesses, by supplying them with great talent to grow their business, but the work they also do with candidates to ensure they move in to a role that fulfils their needs. Aspire is proud to change the lives of candidates and improve businesses every day.”
Marking the importance of leaders in achieving excellence, Annalee Wood’s fabulous work has recently been recognised and illustrated by her win of the Recruiter’s Investing In Talent award in the Most Inspiriting Team Leader category.
Over the years, Annalee contributed to building an outstanding workplace and has made a positive difference to the success of Aspire and the recruitment profession’s reputation externally by abiding by Aspire’s social and ethical values.
Annalee’s commitment to placing the right candidate in the right job means she always gets amazing feedback from clients. Indeed, she understands the importance of ensuring the candidates are right for the roles they are being placed in and does not just want to hit targets. Her strong commitment to ‘recruitment with a conscious’ has often been demonstrated by her refusal to work with companies that do not align with Aspire’s values of providing decent and sustainable employment for all.
Annalee Wood said: “Recruitment is like riding an emotional roller-coaster there are many ups and downs but if you can keep a level head through the high highs and low lows you will reap the rewards of a career in recruitment.“
