Julie Hoyland - Case Study
Monday, November 2, 2015
Julie Hoyland from Newton Heath in Manchester had worked in various short term domestic roles, and had also worked as a supervisor in hospitality at the Etihad stadium. After being unemployed for about three months, 45 year old Julie registered with Aspire Recruitment and learned about the Building Attendant Academy course run by The Works, a partnership between the Work Company and the University of Manchester.
The course is a pre-recruitment programme, where the participants achieve an NVQ level 1 qualification covering essentials such as health and safety, manual handling, customer service and interview techniques. Following the course, Julie was successful at interview, and is now in permanent employment with the University as a Building Attendant, having completed the 12 week induction period.
Julie said: “I feel very grateful to be working at such an institution. I enjoy everything about the job and I’m very happy here. I just want to thank everyone at Aspire for their help and time, I really appreciate the opportunity they gave me.”
