Programmes Administrator

SALARY UP TO: £23,395.22 per year

Salary: £12.82 per hour

Hours: 35 per week

Duration: 8 Weeks initially.

Location: Manchester City Centre

Purpose of the role:

To work alongside an integrated team providing administrative support to the postgraduate taught programmes throughout the establishment. This vacancy requires the candidate to play a key role in the organisation process, development and administrative support of the department

There is a requirement to demonstrate a high level of customer service and to show initiative in performance of the role. Furthermore, this role involves liaising with key contacts within the esablishment and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will occasionally be required to work outside the core office hours to support events.

Key Responsibilities

·    To provide administrative support in the preparation, maintenance and monitoring of records including the use of Campus Solutions and Discoverer for:

-        Registration

-        Course Unit Enrolment

-        Updating Couse Unit Publishing material

-        Assessment and examinations

-        Dissertation examination

-        Completions and Graduation.

·    General secretarial and clerical duties.


·    Be responsible for ensuring compliance is adhered to for the department.

·    Liaise with appropriate colleagues for events, induction and residential days, programme handbooks, timetabling and room bookings.

·    Assist with the production and publication of programme documentation.

·    Create new course units, schedule classes, set up and maintain academic advisement rules.


·    Activate Blackboard course units, set up content folders and populate the space with lecture materials.

·    Organise examination logistics such as room bookings, timetabling information, exam invigilation, obtaining answer booklets from examinations teams.

·    Input marks into Campus Solutions and notify students of results.

Essential Skills and Experience:

·    Experience of working with student related administrative processes in a busy office environment and the ability to prioritise work according to deadlines.

·    Experience using Campus Solutions and Blackboard.
