& Workforce Development Specialist Advisor
This role will work in partnership with IDT Advisers to deliver
specialist organisational and workforce development advice to a portfolio of
ambitious business owners and senior managers. Engaging with SMEs who have the potential to achieve productivity
increases and growth through the adoption of Industrial Digital Technology
(IDT). This role specifically focuses on the skills of the workforce and how
these can be enhanced to keep up with business advances in IDT. You will support businesses to create and
implement appropriate workforce development plans aligned to their IDT journey. You’ll identify the potential for appropriate
specialised student placement support and liaise with Universities to
facilitate this. In addition you will
provide feedback on the skills needs that are identified to support adoption
and the challenges around this to support Local Enterprise Partnerships to
develop local skills strategies.
· Supporting SMEs to reach their full growth and
productivity potential, through identifying opportunities for in-work employee
development and specialised student placements.
· Handle client enquiries via, phone and email,
initially assessing the business needs using appropriate tools, processes and
systems where required and establishing and maintaining effective relationships
and key client contacts.
· Undertake diagnostics for businesses using
appropriate tools to identify development needs and recommend appropriate
· Ensure clients are personally introduced to
those services identified as appropriate (public and private sector provision)
and monitor the delivery of these services to support the client’s strategy and
objectives and address those barriers to growth identified.
· Ensure client enquiries and partner referrals
are correctly recorded, updating progress against agreed actions as plans
progress and ensure all administration is completed in timely manner against
deadlines and is checked for accuracy.
· Ensure that the monitoring and collection of
output and impacts data is undertaken throughout the project
· Deliver bespoke support to client businesses to
enable them to meet their full potential; this may include a multi-disciplinary
approach to support provision.
· Establish an FE tutor network and develop and
maintain a high level network of business contacts that generate personal
· Liaise with the NW LEP skills leads to ensure
that SME requirements and challenges are shared to inform local digital skills
partnership/skills advisory board planning.
· Collate information resulting from the
Leadership and Management programme to identify skills related issues.
· Degree level business education, or degree
level qualification with a Management body or the relevant business experience
· Technical knowledge in the key areas of
identification of organisational and training needs analysis.
· The way workforce development programmes
operate within SMEs and the infrastructure required to design, implement,
manage and review them.
· The local, regional and national digital
skills provider market and the available provision.
· Apprenticeship and workforce development
service funding models and regulations.
