Officer (Projects) – Estates & Facilities Directorate
Salary: £31,371.00 to £34,788.00

Location: Fire Service HQ – Swinton
You will predominantly be responsible
for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service’s Estate, however, you may be
required to work on any of the Combined Authorities property portfolio.
The role is part of the
multi-disciplinary team to deliver an effective estate across the Authorities
owned and leased premises. The post holder will be responsible for delivering
a combination of Minor Works schemes, including backlog maintenance, and
Capital Projects to time, budget and quality. The post holder will have a
good understanding of all aspects of managing construction projects including
JCT Contracts, financial and risk management, and the completion of Project
Initiation Documents and Business Cases. The post holder will be expected to
manage schemes from inception through completion and beyond including
Stakeholder engagement and contractor/consultant management using recognised
project management methodology.
Ideally you will have experience in an Estates environment ideally in a project management role or a role with management experience of maintenance. You will have experience of managing stakeholders, consultants and contractors.
Be able to demonstrate a high level of
communication skills both verbally, written and IT literate
also competent in the use of Autocad, MS Project
and/or other project management tools
You should have the ability to work autonomously
whilst being a good team player with the ability to apply creative thought to
develop effective solutions.
You should be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge
of relevant health and safety legislation, codes of practice, and applicable
