Your role: -

Do you want to make a difference to thousands of young people aged 11-19 in Greater Manchester (GM) as part of a GM wide drive to improve young people’s life chances? Do you want to work as part of a well-established dynamic team in a stimulating environment?

We are looking to appoint two unique team members to take on this critical role within the Work and Skills team at the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and support our well-established network of schools and businesses to help deliver change in the way careers education is experienced. The role will help us deliver on our existing and ground-breaking approach to careers and enterprise development for young people and deliver on the Mayor’s Life Readiness agenda.

Working closely with other Careers and Enterprise Coordinators, Work and Skills colleagues, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, government departments such as the Careers and Enterprise Company, voluntary organisations, businesses, schools and colleges as well as a range of local authority partners you can help us create the best chances for some of Greater Manchester’s most vulnerable young people and help close the skills gap where:

·       Young people have the success to succeed in work and life

·       People can improve their skills to help businesses compete globally

·       People will get the support they need to work and thrive.

Greater Manchester is at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse and nationally at the forefront of devolution so we are looking for people who can talk about leading change but who can also roll up their sleeves and deliver it.

About you: -

If you are a passionate, committed individual with experience of managing programmes and developing relationships and you care about what happens to young people then this is a role for you.

The role will involve working centrally at the GMCA and across one or two areas in the sub-region (to be defined.)

***Please advise which role you are applying for (or both) in your application***
