Aspire Recruitment Aims To Retain Prestigious Award
Thursday, July 27, 2017
Aspire Recruitment has been nominated for a Recruiter’s Investing In Talent award in the Best Employability/Recruitment Initiative for the Unemployed category. The Manchester-based ethical recruitment agency won the award at last year’s ceremony in London so will be hoping to retain the title for another year.
The Employability/Recruitment Initiative category relates to recruiters’ initiatives to prepare current and future/potential candidates for employment and Aspire Recruitment certainly has the track record in this area after more than a decade of working with employers and candidates in Greater Manchester and beyond.
As part of The Growth Company, Aspire Recruitment works in partnership with The Skills Company, as well as the Skills For Employment and National Careers Service teams to provide a range of services for clients, including pre-employment training, impartial careers advice and help for long-term unemployed people and particularly hard-to-place candidates.
Aspire Recruitment has also worked with the University of Manchester since 2008, helping them with temporary vacancies and so far placing over 3,100 candidates there, 98% of whom were previously unemployed, with 87% coming from some of Manchester’s most deprived areas.
As a social and ethical not-for-profit agency, Aspire Recruitment regularly gives back to the local community and in 2011 worked in partnership with the University to launch The Works, an employment and training centre in Moss Side, which aims to improve the work opportunities available to local unemployed people.
Last May, The Works was awarded the Social Impact Award in the Guardian Sustainable Business Awards, having also won the Outstanding Contribution to the Community in the 2013 Times Higher Education Awards.
As well as their social and ethical work, Aspire Recruitment also work with employers of all sizes to fill high level vacancies through their professional services team, providing a 360 degree consultative process to help recruit the best people possible.
Head of Aspire Recruitment Julie McMenamin said: “We’re thrilled to be nominated again for this prestigious Recruiter’s award. Winning it last year was a proud moment for all of our hard-working staff and testament to the work they do to help improve lives and enable employers to find the very best candidates.”
